Community Table: AI, Artists & the Agency Shift

Not long ago, conversations about AI felt largely theoretical. Today, they're happening in production meetings, contract negotiations, and client conversations every day.

For this episode of Community Table, Kelly Montez and I sat down with Madi Nauta, Senior Art Producer at Anomaly, and freelance Art Producer Denise Knickerbocker to explore how AI is reshaping creative production from the agency perspective. Together, we discussed everything from artist rights and business affairs to collaboration, education, and the evolving role producers play in helping clients navigate new technology.

What stood out most wasn't a definitive answer about AI. It was the realization that the conversation itself has changed. A year ago, we were asking whether AI would replace photographers. Today, we're asking much more interesting questions: What are clients paying for now? How do we use AI responsibly? How do we protect artists while embracing innovation? And how do we ensure creativity remains at the center of the process?

The technology will continue to evolve, but one thing hasn't changed: great work still depends on thoughtful collaboration, clear communication, and the people behind it.
