“For me, creativity is an act of manifesting, the moment when imagination becomes something real, something felt, something that connects us. My work is guided by presence, intuition, and a deep sensitivity to people and place. Photography allows me to slow down, listen, and see the world with clarity, transforming ideas into experiences that feel honest, shared, and alive.”

I think of creativity as the moment when an idea finds its form; a bridge between imagination and what we make real. For me, it’s a practice of being present and connected to people and place. I seek experiences that ground, restore, and inspire. Photography offers me all three, allowing me to listen and see, and to slow down enough to notice what’s truly there. That same awareness guides how I collaborate, bringing intuition into the process so that ideas take shape honestly and collectively. Ultimately, my work is about bringing vision to life; transforming what’s imagined into something tangible that connects us.
My childhood backyard was the clear blue and turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea on the island of St. Thomas, where every day dazzled the senses. Yet, life wasn’t always a vacation. I grew up in a time and environment that required me to be observant and self-directed early on. My parents were busy building their business, so my sister was my anchor, filling the parental role. I was eight when she left for college. It was then that I learned to draw strength from within, no matter the circumstances.
I forged my own worldview, not from inherited beliefs, but from lived experience. Life was shaped by sailing, windsurfing, and the joy of creating with others. From a young age, I searched for my people. I was always emotionally older than the other kids and craved deep, intense friendships, ride-or-die connections. Even growing up on a beautiful island, my favorite experiences weren’t about the scenery alone; they were about what I was doing and who I was with.
I’ve always thought big, dreamed big, and pursued big ambitions. My drive began early; from discovering photography and the darkroom to taking my first job at 13, just to buy a camera. I’ve never waited for others to make things happen. What started as a web design major in college soon became photography, a calling I had to follow.
I grew up in a culture of shortcuts, which taught me the value of showing up and doing the work. While attending The Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, I was chasing assistant jobs and unpaid internships. It became a challenge: who would respond, who would give me a chance? With each opportunity I pursued, I gained a deeper understanding of the business, which deepened my passion for photography. My approach of showing up and doing the work eventually led to graduating with the best portfolio and, years later, being recognized by my school’s Wall of Fame.
From my earliest days devouring fantasy novels, imagination and creativity have always been at the heart of everything I do. After college, I landed my first job as a photographer for a global entertainment company’s in-house creative agency. It was where everything I studied and imagined could come to life. We handled everything from large-scale productions to fast, run-and-gun shoots, traveling constantly and photographing hundreds of celebrities across every corner of the brand.
At 21, as the first woman and youngest hire at the agency, I learned early to prioritize self-empowerment. With the constant thought of how I can add value to anybody and everybody that I meet? I set out to prove myself. What began as a grueling test of endurance became a defining period of growth, transforming me from an underestimated newcomer into the most requested photographer on the team. Looking back, I’m deeply grateful; it was the most intense, challenging, and rewarding photography boot camp I could have imagined. That kind of creative cross-pollination taught me that feedback fuels my fire. I’m still learning, refining, and evolving with every project.
I never could ignore the pull to do things differently from everyone else. Following that instinct, even when it felt unsafe or lonely, became my greatest act of courage. I believe that creativity is instinct sharpened under pressure; trust the first idea, pivot fast if it fails, and treat every challenge as an open door to the next solution. With that in mind, I chose to design my own life, which included leaving Florida and a stable job.
Breadcrumbs of curiosity have always led my way. When I left my first job, it opened the door to self-discovery. Even though the path was unclear, I knew to trust that my past experiences would inform the future. Next, I relocated to Los Angeles and established my own business. As someone who finds joy in the beginner's mindset, in not knowing, in discovering what’s possible, I was excited about this next adventure.
Over the next several years, I learned to lean on my spirituality and to listen inwardly. I explain my spirituality through light: just as we can only see a small part of the light spectrum, we also only sense a fraction of the support and connection around us. To this day, this space, where I listen inwardly, is where I seek meaning, transcendence, and alignment with something larger than myself.
I’ve discovered that photography is how I live in the moment. It’s where I enter a state where nothing else matters, nothing else exists, where I get to unfurl the beauty that I see, unwrapping it piece by piece. That perspective shapes not only how I live but also how I create. I am always growing, expanding, and seeing things in new ways. This open mindset naturally reveals itself in my work behind the camera.
I’ve always known that I was guided by something deeper. From a young age, I learned how to read people and situations; it’s where intuition quietly took root and began to grow. Experience has taught me that when others feel at ease, their true selves emerge. I am a constant self-explorer, seeking growth beyond the medium of photography, which led me to become a spiritual advisor, host of a healing podcast, and author of children’s books; each pursuit aimed at lifting others up. I rise and invite others to rise with me.
On set, I trust in people’s potential, in their ability to bring out their best selves, and in the beauty that is yet to be revealed. My personal projects center around connection and collaboration. Whether with my subjects or creative friends, I want the work to feel mutually beneficial, something we’re building together and something we are delighted and excited by. From setting up a spec shoot for a job I didn’t get with a team I’d love to create with, to working with other artists who are equally devoted to their craft, coming together to create beauty is what life is all about.
What tethers me to the past while keeping me fully present is being in the water. When I’m not on set or capturing the world through my camera, you can find me surfing. The ocean is my home, a place where I feel the heartbeat of the earth through every sense, where my inner voice meets the outer world. I’ve never been afraid to express myself, and dance offers a similar release: a way to let go, be moved by music, and inhabit the moment completely. Both surfing and dancing are acts of self-care, spaces where imagination, intuition, and presence come together, grounding me while allowing me to grow. From this grounded, open place, the life I envision and the work I create unfold naturally into being.
