The Human Side of a Reactive Industry

I recently revisited a thoughtful Community Table conversation between my co-host Kelly Montez and Aggie Ryan about the changing pace of the creative industry and how agencies, production teams, and brands are adapting in real time.

The conversation explored everything from AI workflows and shrinking timelines to integrated campaigns and evolving client expectations. But what stayed with me most was something deeper: the growing feeling that creative work is increasingly being shaped by reaction. Reacting to culture. Reacting to algorithms. Reacting to timelines that continue to compress while deliverables continue to expand.

What I appreciated most was that the conversation wasn’t framed through fear or doom. It was nuanced, honest, and surprisingly optimistic. Beneath all the discussion about speed and technology, the conversation kept returning to very human ideas: trust, chemistry, collaboration, instincts, and the importance of creative relationships.

After listening back, I found myself writing a longer reflection on how the rhythm of creative production has fundamentally shifted and what still matters in a faster industry.
