This is our first episode of a new season of Dear Art Producer! On this episode, Heather sits down with Karen Blatchford, Senior Producer at VMLY&R in Chicago. 

During her 20-plus years in the business, Karen has worked on a variety of accounts, from automotive to beauty and consumer goods, to healthcare, and everything in between. Karen brings to the table her experience as a rep, producer, and a cost consultant making her a very valuable producer. 

In their conversation, Karen shares her background in photography, her experience as a cost consultant, and her passion for print productions. She also provides valuable insight into how to get a producer’s attention, the challenges of integrating broadcast and print productions, and the impact of budget constraints on photography projects.
