In, Under & Through the Water: Sandro Baebler for Ochsner Sport

Water has always been a source of inspiration for Photographer and Director Sandro Baebler. Years ago, while on a surfing trip in Brazil, he realized he was more captivated by the waves, weather, and atmosphere than by being on the board itself. That shift from riding the water to capturing it sparked his journey into sports photography.

That same spirit guided his latest project for Ochsner Sport, focused on the beauty and flow of swimming. With the trust of his longtime client, Sandro had the freedom to propose a concept and cast two incredible athletes, one of whom won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. Shooting at a public pool in Switzerland, he and his team fully immersed themselves in the environment, experimenting in, under, and through the water.

The result is a collection of images that balance simplicity and design with raw athletic energy. Just as Sandro once swapped his surfboard for a camera, he continues to bring a fresh perspective to sports, capturing moments with clarity, elegance, and intention.
