Zachary Scott's winning images for the American Photography AP39 represent two of his strengths; balanced imagery and celebrity portraiture.
His image from his shoot for Texas Monthly features a regal bird which was one of many for this shoot. Zachary shot the cover story of professional bird watcher Tiffany Kersten.
The second image of comedian Nathan Fielder was part of a cover story for New York Magazine. Zachary has worked with over 50 high-profile celebrities over his career and this image is a perfect example of his ability to create a narrative through portraits. Zachary Scott has been shooting editorial the majority of his career. In fact, his oldest client is The New York Times Magazine, who began hiring him in 2005. He has always loved working with the magazine as it has introduced him to incredible creatives, allowed him to work with a-list celebrities and has given him opportunities to travel around the world. His most recent cover for the magazine is with comedian and actor Bob Odenkirk.
